Fake Matches

Now I’m sure

I know that sites like Tinder want you to spend for the premium features. And if you’ve spent once, they want you to continue lining their pockets. That’s a given. But I wasn’t sure whether they feed members fake matches. Now I am. And they do!

Unless you pay for Tinder Platinum (their highest and most exalted member status), you can’t message anybody unless they’ve swiped right and indicated that take an interest in you.

In the past, I’ve seen a few of my matches with whom I don’t recall swiping right on. But there’s always a chance she changed her first picture in the interim and thus, I don’t recognize somebody I actually did swipe right on.

Well, today, I got a match from Kenya who I know I would never have “liked” in a million years. This just has to be a setup — and I’m not biting.

For my entertainment, her bio reads in part:

From this, I would infer that guys like to show their junk off to women halfway around the world — and she’s not down with that program. Too funny! No wonder women — and especially divorcees — go gay at some point in their more mature years. Guys are just too insufferable for words.

Back to the point. This Tinder thing is a bust — and not in the 36DD realm. But I have to own a disturbing reality: I’m a 3 who won’t settle for less than a 7. And you know where that leaves me: Holding my own for the foreseeable future. Not a huge problem. I’ve had my share — and my memory is still intact.
