So how is everyone going so far with your new year resolutions? Mine so far I’m on track as I’ve promised myself that I will write every day this year. Of course, making it realistic by breaking goals down week by week and then at the end of the month calculate the results.

I’m grateful for technology as even more so during this uncertain time. In Sydney, Australia covid is still very real and as of Monday, next week masks are now mandatory.

Why our leaders have left it so long to make it mandatory sooner but I guess better late than never.

So I’m opening up another fortune cookie for a bit of writing inspiration.

And it reveals

“Goals are dreams with deadlines”

I think that’s so important. It’s good to have goals in life, but without action, they just remain a dream. For a dream to become a reality it has to be achievable.

Some people dream of winning the lottery, so much so that they will spend every cent they have buying tickets only to still have that dream out of reach. But if they had put that money aside for one year on what they would have spent on lotto or any form of gambling they would come out on top.

Of course, there is luck and yes people do have that in the right place at the right time stroke of luck which only sadly feeds their desire to play again and lose their money anyway.

And yes in case you were wondering, I’m not a fan of gambling.

But that’s only one new year's resolution people might have, another might be weight loss. Again that is realistic but not a loss of a dangerous amount. you might decide to eat more healthy and be more active, or to cut down on coffee and dessert after dinner.

You can measure that success each week and then monthly.

One of my goals is to write every day this year which will be the most I’ve ever written. But I’m starting week by week and they add up the result at the end of the month.

And I’d love to be curated too which hasn’t happened yet. I’ve been blogging for one year on Medium and no I haven’t been curated yet but I would love to be so I’m aiming for that…
