Finding My Mooring

I feel a little adrift. I like to flow some, with the current, and see where I go. But, I want to know who I am and where my harbor is. I want to know where to come back to.

I’m in a setting; in a life. It’s wild to consider. Time goes on by. My life goes on by. Life itself seems to go on and on. And I’m in this life. Who am I? I’m in this setting. I put it together for the most part; I mean choosing the house, the furniture, etc.

My main mode is doing. Trying to construct things, repair things, care for things. Also, I care for relationships. I care for truth.

I’m trying to find my way, but it may work better to adopt someone else’s instructions. Michael Hyatt has helped me with planning. The Bible presents “a way”. It’s allegiance to Jesus and living according to his commandments. That’s good. And then there’s wisdom from Jordan Peterson. I don’t think he’s given me much practical help, but he’s affirmed truth, and I enjoy listening to him. And society gives us a way, but it definitely has its problems. But, the syncretism of our work together has produced a lot of good.

I think the Bible, and it’s way, is a good foundation. Of course it would advocate learning from others too.

People … we are all at different places. Some are headed to tragic ends. Are some headed to glorious ends? Only through the saving work of God, I believe. We refuse, or we get into the flow. To give ourselves to this flow from the throne of God. It’s a way of doing, but also of being, and also of faith in God himself and his ways.

I think I’ll work for a bit. Work is good. And I hope I’ll enjoy the company of others around me today too.
