The code that lasted for 12 hrs

I am writing this blog to share about an experience I recently had for building a web application and how it went through. From getting awesome traffic to a complete flop show.

How it all began…..

One fine day a friend of mine (@sumit) called me up and said Bhai ek event karvana hai (bro I want to conduct an event) and I was like why not go ahead and do it.

He said he needs a website built which would enable his university students to write sweet goodbye messages and once we collect a huge no of responses those who would desire to have the content printed over the shirt could order and get the shirt shipped.

Seems like a simple application to be built and yeah it was but god did I know It had its own amazing challenges ahead.

Was working fine while we were using it so we assumed should work fine for any other user and yeah it did work fine for first 50 users and then we started facing issues.

These were some interesting things for me as a new developer and was a great experience to see it happen live in front of my eyes.

Although something great about this entire thing was that For the first time in my life I had 2000 unique visitors with 1lakh + hits using the application at the same time.

Although the server crashed it was kind of new to me and I really enjoyed this. Also, We had to take down the website because of not having the report feature at that point in time.

Looking forward to trying out similar things in the near future.
